Review: "Beauty and the Beast"

Posted by Trueline Radio | | Posted in

"Beauty and the Beast" First written as "Belle et la Bete" by French novelist Jeanne-Marie Leprince de Beaumont in 1756, there have been many variants of the original in literature, television, stage and films. With elements of fantasy such as a castle in the forest, a curse, a prince charming and a damsel in distress, fairy tales have always been fascinating and "Beauty and the Beast", is no different.

Ironically, Director Christophe Gans' "Beauty and the Beast" is the second major French film adaptation of the classic fairy tale after 68 years. The previous film with the same name was directed by Jean Cocteau in 1946.

Well this latest edition, with a bit of digression in the narration, offers nothing out of the ordinary in terms of plot, acting or presentation. But nevertheless, it is still mesmerizing. It is so magically beautiful with its phenomenal music, exquisite visual style and enchanting craftsmanship, that it would enthrall kids of every age group.

Narrated as a layered story within a story mode, the film begins with the opening of a book as Seydoux's voice reads a bedtime story, "Belle et la Bete" to two adorable kids. She tells them the tale of a rich merchant who has three sons - Maxim, Tristan and Luis and three daughters Anne, Clotilde and Belle.

Belle the youngest, is known for her beauty and the film is her journey of how she meets the beast and falls in love with it.

On the performance front, most of the cast are perfunctory. Lea Seydoux as Belle is ravishingly endearing. Vincent Cassel as the Beast is adorable too. But unfortunately the chemistry between the two is lacking and the fault lies not with the actors but with the sketchy script that wrapped up the exposition with seemingly unintentional hurry.

Also, this classic romantic fairy tale feels more contrived than it ought to as the scriptwriters underplay the true depths of the romance and emotion amidst its majestic plot-graph.
Technically, with excellent production values and elaborate costumes, the visuals by cinematographer Christophe Beaucarne are vibrantly brought to life by his meticulous framing. Unfortunately, the computer generated images of the Beast done by motion-capture are of poor quality and jarring at times.

But as mentioned earlier, this film, its minor flaws notwithstanding, is sure to captivate kids and leave them engrossed in this fantasy tale.

A treat for kids, the release of the film couldn't have been more well-timed, with this being a "Children's Day" weekend.

Dasari Narayana Rao: Interview

Posted by Trueline Radio | | Posted in ,

After a silence  gap of 3 years,  Dasari Narayana Rao directed  film is releasing. It is  Erra Bus. In an exclusive interview to IMT, Dasari talks about Erra Bus and the current situation of Telugu  film industry :-

Your name is known for fresh and original ideas & concept films. You speak strongly against remakes. What is the reason for now  doing a remake of Tamil film for Erra Bus?

I do agree that I am principally against remakes. I had a personal setback when my wife passed away around 3 years back. I stayed away from making films. The current film industry is suffering from hero-centric and entertainment oriented films. Hero has become a comedian and stories are being centered around comedians. Since a few films of such format have become huge hits, every filmmaker is trying to make the same films again and again.

Telugu audiences watched films of all genres till 2000. But things have changed past 2000. I was unsure of doing films of my liking as I don’t know if audiences wanted to see them. That’s when I watched Tamil film Manjapai. It is in the format of Nanna Garu, Suri Gadu, Mavagaru etc. I have reused the concept of the film, but wrote fresh script to suit Telugu sensibilities. I am happy that Vishnu did the role of hero in this movie. This film needs somebody like Vishnu to take it to larger audiences. I am playing an equally important role.

Erra Bus is a big budgeted film compared to films you have produced in the last couple of decades?

Yes. I spent a lot of budget on making and promotion of Erra Bus as I am confident of the success of the film. Erra Bus is capable of creating a new trend in film industry if it becomes successful.

Unlike old days, there is not enough time for films that run on mouth publicity as most of the collections are generated in the first three days?

Yes. Let me give a few examples from the past.

1. Swargam Narakam film has collected Rs 350/- on the morning show of release in Vijaywada. It became housefull on the morning show of Monday due to excellent mouth talk.

2. Seeta Ramayya Gari Manavaralu has started with Rs 1800/- on the morning show in Amaravathi theater, Hyderabad and then went on to become a silver jubilee film (175 days) due to superb mouth talk.

3. Sankarabharan film was terminated in 2 weeks in Khammam and it was back after a couple of weeks later on popular demand and went on to run for 100 days.

Now, there is no scope for good mouth talk for a good film to sustain and make money as the span of a film is reduced to two weeks.

You are 70 years old now. You are still maintaining the same enthusiasm to make movies. What is the secret?
The only thing I know in my life is cinema. I don’t know anything else. During Manashulantha Okkate time, NTR said, “Brother, If you want to become number one in your profession, you need to sacrifice things you like. Everybody, gives priority to their family life than to their profession. But I make my profession a priority. You are also doing the same. I can guarantee that you will become number one in the future due to the same quality.”

You make sensational statements during your speeches in functions?

Yes. They are sensational, but they are facts too. Lot of film people also feel the same. But, they don’t talk due to fear. But I don’t mention any names in my speeches. But whatever I talk in functions is mild when compared to the kind of feedback I give to them when I personally meet them. Since I had been in an authoritative position in industry for a long time, and since I wish for the well-being of industry, whatever I do is for the betterment of Industry. I don’t personally dislike anybody. Whatever I talk is based on issues.

Please Tell us about your future films?

I want Erra Bus to be successful at box office. I am not bothered about financial gains. But the success of Erra Bus can help industry to become healthy and positive. I will be directing one film per year and will be producing several concept based small budgeted films every year.

Classic Review : 'Creature From the Black Lagoon'

Posted by Trueline Radio | | Posted in , ,

In our Classic Review Series here Read review of Creature From the Black Lagoon below, which was originally headlined, "Black Lagoon Diverting Science-Fiction Meller."

A "good piece of science-fiction of the beauty and the beast school, the beast in this case being a monstrous combination of man and fish"

On Feb. 9, 1954, a month before hitting theaters, The Hollywood Reporter met Universal's latest big screen monster.
Creature From the Black Lagoon is a good piece of science-fiction of the beauty and the beast school, the beast in this case being a monstrous combination of man and fish. It makes for solid horror-thrill entertainment.

Story starts when scientist Antonio Moreno discovers a huge web-fingered skeleton hand along the Amazon River. When he reports his find an expedition is organized to locate the rest of the skeleton. Among the scientists are Julia Adams, the beauty of the yarn, Richard Carlson, Whit Bissell and Richard Denning, the latter a publicity seeking character who, when he sees the fishman after it has killed several of the helpers, is determined to bring it back.

They capture it once, but it escapes after almost killing Bissell. Over Denning's objections the others decide to return for help, but the monster has blocked the exit from the lagoon, seeking revenge for the attack upon him and having designs on Miss Adams. It kills Denning and grabs the girl, being tracked down to its eerie hiding place where it is fatally wounded.

Screenplay by Harry Essex and Arthur Ross, from a story by Maurice Zimm, is soundly developed, leading to an exciting climax. Jack Arnold's megging is briskly competent, although too much time is wasted on underwater shots which are neither novel or dramatic enough to hold interest for the entire footage. Pruning here would help.

Lovely Julia Adams, finally out of the crinoline costumes, reveals a gorgeous pair of gams in a swimming sequence and turns in her customary fine performance. Richard Carlson, who seems to appear in most of the good science-fiction pictures, is convincing as the male lead, and Richard Denning is strong as the commercial-minded head of the expedition. Nestor Paiva contributes an excellent stint as the skipper of the river boat, and Antonio Moreno and Whit Bissell handle their roles capably.

The William Alland production was shot in black-and-white 3-D, the process adding some small value to the underwater shots which don't make up for the eyestrain. William E. Snyder's photography is good. Underwater sequences were ably directed by James C. Havens. —Milton Luban

Super Ranga

Posted by Trueline Radio | | Posted in , ,

After the travelling through Tamil, Hindi Now ‘Kick’ reached in Kannada, a great full thanks to Sadhu Kokila, in true Uppi style and is a treat for extreme fans.

‘Kick’ has traveled a long way. It’s indeed great to see that in Kannada the film, a crowd-puller formula film, gets re-made with an actor who can do 100% justice to his role.

Yes, it’s a must-see for die hard fans of Uppi Upendra, the singing, fighting, dancing star who has his own style of dialogue delivery, one that endears him to the masses.

Ranga (Upendra) is someone who wishes to derive a ‘kick’ (thrill) out of whatever he does; for this he sometimes causes great risk to himself and to those close to him. He never sticks on to one thing. He happens to come across a young, beautiful girl

Swathi (Kriti Kharbanda), who first dislikes him for this trait of his, but later starts loving him. But later, the ‘kick’ loving nature of Ranga causes a split and they get separated. Later, Swathi happens to come across a daring cop (Raghu Mukherjee), who is out to hunt down none other than Ranga.

Well, ‘Super Ranga’ remains faithful to the original story and at the same time makes sure the real spirit of the original story, the thrills and the frills are not lost in re-making.

Producer K Manju and director Sadhu Kokila makes sure the film gives you real great ‘kick’.

As expected, it’s Uppi Upendra all the way. He just thrills you and performs wonderfully well. Kriti Kharbanda is amazing and looks great too. Raghu Mukherjee shines in his role. Everyone in the cast performs well. Ashok Kashyap delivers the kind of cinematography that’s demanded by the subject and Arjun Janya delivers entertaining music.

‘Super Ranga’ is a treat for the masses and real film-festival for Uppi fans...entertainment guaranteed!!!

Breaking Milestone To "KATHI"

Posted by Trueline Radio | | Posted in ,

Tamil cinema celebrated it's Silver Jubilee in recent days. That days all gone now. There was a time when movies ran for 100 days or even more than that. In those days, not so long ago though, people used to make a movie in 50 days and its theatrical run at times went beyond 175 days. It is probably the vice verse now with the makers taking close to 175 days to complete a movie and only a blockbuster movie is able to achieve the coveted 50 day mark in theaters.

In such a competitive scenario, Ilayathalapathy Vijay’s Kaththi has managed to cross its victorious 25 days run today (15th November) in notable number of screens. As we all know the movie is already a blockbuster and it is fascinating to know that it attracts the audience even after a solid 4 week run at the theaters.

Congrats to Vijay, ARM and team.

A.RMurugadoss copied Kaththi, claims Gopi

Posted by Unknown | Wednesday, November 5, 2014 | Posted in

The new case updated is that filmmaker A.R. Murugadoss had stolen the script of his Tamil blockbuster "Kaththi" from an aspiring writer named Minjur Gopi. Gopi has appealed in a Chennai court, stating that he had met Murugadoss thrice after the director offered to produce his film. He further claims he had discussed his story and script with Murugadoss over the telephone, who had even suggested a few changes. Kaththi's opening on Deepavali was eventful: a multiplex was ransacked just as it had begun selling tickets by an unruly mob which was peeved over the film's Sri Lanka connection. The Kaththi producer's association with the island nation was resented in Tamil Nadu known for its deep sympathy for Lankan Tamils. Somehow, Vijay and Murugadoss worked out a deal with the protesting groups and released the movie as planned on Deepavali. And it has been shaking and stirring the box office.

Gopi is one among the innumerable men and women in showbiz who allege that their plots and even scripts have been plagiarised or stolen. Sometimes, they are right, but it now remains to be seen whether Murugadoss is indeed guilty of what he is being accused of. P Sanjai Gandhi, president of IPR Attorney Association, opines that if a script is registered in the Copyright Registry in Delhi and if a person can prove that this work has been plagiarized, the offender can be sentenced to six months to three years' imprisonment by the district court. However, he is unsure whether self-addressed, sealed script sent through registered post will be considered as strong evidence in court.

Nicki Minaj Smashed Up Her Ex Boyfriend's Mercedes Benz With a Baseball Bat

Posted by Unknown | | Posted in ,

After seeing how she handled Mariah Careywhile judging American Idol and how she threw shade at Iggy Azalea during her BET Awards speech, we already know Nicki Minaj is not someone you want to have beef with.
But in case you needed some additional proof, we found out why she and her now ex-boyfriend Safaree Samuels finally broke up: she smashed up his car with a baseball bat.

TMZ reports that the former couple got into an argument over the summer, and the "Anaconda" rapper got so pissed she completely lost it and grabbed a baseball bat, originally going after him and chasing him out of the house with it.

NICKI MINAJ SHOWS OFF BIKINI BODY
Luckily, instead of beating the crap out of him, she decided to take it out on his Mercedes Benz instead, completely wrecking the car.
Law enforcement sources say police with called to the house, but no arrests were made.  Samuels was simply escorted out of her home and left.  Minaj didn't face charges for the destruction because the Benz was in her name.

The couple called things off shortly thereafter... And I think that was probably their best bet before something seriously bad went down!

New Hottie in B-Town, Priyanka Chopra’s cousin

Priyanka Chopra’s first cousin Mannara who makes her debut in Bollywoodwith Anubhav Sinha’s ‘ZID’.

Barbie Handa is Priyanka Chopra’s first cousin, who is now all set to make her silver screen debut in Anubhav Sinha’s Barbie, in order to be walking with the times, has now rechristened herself as Manaara, courtesy, Anubhav Sinha. Speaking about the name change, Sinha reasoned that Barbie was too childish a name for a grown-up girl. He added that Manaara also happens to be her nickname. Seconding his thoughts was Barbie herself… we mean… Manaara herself, who said that she liked the very name Manaara, which means a Greek word for ‘something that shines’.

Manaara is making news for multiple reasons and one of them being the film’s dare-bare posters which features her. Explaining which she says, since we are in 2014, she can’t be in a veil (‘ghoonghat’). When asked for her sister Priyanka’s reaction to the posters, Manaara was quick to reply that prior to the poster shoot, she had called up Priyanka Chopra (who was in Barcelona at that time) and she gave her nod for the same, but with a condition that she had to ensure that it’s done aesthetically and didn’t look sleazy.

Zid is slated for a release on 28th November and is creating quite a buzz amongst the who’s who of B-Town.

Over 3,500 babies born in hospitals in flood-hit Jammu and Kashmir

Posted by Unknown | Tuesday, September 23, 2014 | Posted in ,

Srinagar: More than 3,500 babies were born in government hospitals in Kashmir at the peak of devastating floods that affected most of the tertiary care hospitals in the Valley.

Nearly 2,300 normal deliveries and 1,260 Caesarean sections were conducted from September 4 to 20 in various hospitals of Kashmir, which were functional during this period, an official spokesman said on Tuesday.

The spokesman said statistics now available show that 5,77,595 patients came to the OPDs in all the district hospitals across the Kashmir Valley during the fortnight ending September 20.

"Nearly 34,600 patients were admitted for treatment while 1,435 major surgeries and 1,03,160 lab tests were conducted at these hospitals," he said.

During this period, 145 medical camps were set up, including 62 in Srinagar city, and essential medicine was provided in most of the areas, the spokesman said.

Despite having suffered losses to the tune of Rs 100 crore, the SMHS Hospital authorities set up a free medical camp in which patients suffering from diabetes, hypertension and other chronic ailments were given consultation and treatment.

The Bone and Joint Hospital Barzulla was made functional immediately after the floods. The out patient department of Lal Ded and G B Pant hospitals have been made functional after water was drained out and clean up operations conducted yesterday.

Will fight against “manipulated” draw with higher authorities: Pallikal

Posted by Unknown | | Posted in

After securing India’s maiden women’s singles squash medal at the Asian Games, a vindicated Dipika Pallikal has said she will continue to fight against the “manipulated” draw with higher authorities after being let down by the officials back home.

Pallikal, who lost to World No.1 Nicol David in the semifinals on Monday, said she was pleased with her marathon winning effort against teammate Joshana Chinappa that assured her of a bronze on Sunday, especially because it proved the “authorities and her doubters” wrong.

“This win (against) was really important for me. Some people thought I did not want to face Joshana when all along I maintained that the draw was manipulated. And I still feel the same even after I have won a medal for my country. Imagine we could have won two medals if Joshana was in the other half. For future, I am exploring options how I can pursue this matter,” Pallikal told PTIfrom Incheon.

For one, Pallikal has the option of appealing to the ad hoc division of the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) set up at the Incheon Games. The CAS is an arbitration institution founded in 1984 and specialises in the resolution of sports law disputes.

The first Indian to break into world’s top-10 had considered pulling out of the Games after expressing her displeasure over the draw pitting her and Chinappa in the same half. She even wrote to the Indian squash federation (SRFI) but said she did not even get a reply. The SRFI had refuted Pallikal’s claims.

“This apathy of authorities doesn’t bother me anymore. I have been dealing with it ever since I was 14. Whatever I have done, it is my own effort and the support of my coaches and family. Besides that, there is no better feeling than representing India and walk around wearing national colours.

That is mainly why I made up my mind to play here,” said Pallikal.

While the women’s draw courted controversy this time, top male player Saurav Ghosal had won back-to-back bronze medals in Doha 2006 and Guangzhou 2010 beating compatriots Ritwik Bhattacharya and Siddharth Suchde respectively in the quarterfinals, leading to allegations of a fixed draw.

The Chennai-born Pallikal, who turned 23 on Sunday, narrated how she felt in the run-up to the Games.

“The whole episode took a toll on me and I shut myself off from everything else for sometime. I was determined to prove all of them wrong. I especially need to thank my trainer (Basu Shankar), who convinced me to take part in the Games,” she said adding that fiancé and cricketer Dinesh Karthik also helped her get out of the tough phase.

This is no laughing matter

It was exactly what it was meant to be—an organised mess. Aimed at drawing public attention to the pothole-ridden roads in Kochi, a group of clowns on Monday organised a ‘colourful protest’ to mourn the sad ‘demise’ of the agencies entrusted to repair the damaged roads. Instead of shouting, the protesters used squeaky toys, whistles and laughter to run the show.

The event, attended by celebrities like directors Ranjith Shankar and Aashiq Abu and musician Bijibal, was staged in the form of a street-play near the Edappally signal junction.

The 45-minute long satirical skit was enacted by clowns, who came from the city to the venue to pay homage to the deceased government authority. The clowns also ridiculed the inaction by the city corporation and other agencies with regard to fixing a problem that put the common man at the receiving end.

The message they wanted to share was that the authorities looked silly, said Gireesh Menon, one of the organisers. “We are dressed like clowns but you are the ones that look funny,” he added.

Organised by the Pothujanam Theatres, the play also gave an opportunity for the people turning up to share their experience of travelling along the city roads.

Meanwhile, the organisers admitted that the show was not going to have much of an impact among the general public. “Most of the onlookers were amused to see our clown attire. We were expecting it and are not disappointed at all, since it is sure to ignite more discussions on the need for better roads,” he said.

Modi to stay at US President’s official guest house

Posted by Unknown | | Posted in ,

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be the first Indian Prime Minister in over a decade to stay at the U.S. President’s guest house — the 190-year-old Blair House — when he travels to Washington on September 29.

Former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee was the last one to stay at the guest house.

“Built as a private home in 1824, Blair House has played an important role in nearly 190 years of American political, diplomatic and cultural history— from Andrew Jackson’s `Kitchen Cabinet’, to private chats with Abraham Lincoln, to Harry S Truman’s crucial leadership as World War II ended and the Cold War began.

“Now, as then, U.S. Presidents continue to rely on Blair House as a significant foreign policy tool,” as per the official information.

Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh never stayed in the Blair House and always preferred a hotel during his U.S. visits.

The Blair House is the designated guest house of the U.S. president where all his state guests are traditionally known to have stayed.

Located across from the White House on Pennsylvania Avenue, Blair House has served as the President’s Guest House since its purchase by the U.S. government in World War II and under the stewardship of the Department of State, it welcomes visiting heads of states and other top dignitaries.

In New York, Mr. Modi, like Dr. Singh, will stay at the New York Palace Hotel in Manhattan when he arrives on September 26 late afternoon.

His first public engagement next day would be a visit to Ground Zero, the site of the World Trade Centre which was destroyed in the terror attacks by al-Qaeda in 2001 followed by a visit to the 9/11 Memorial Museum built in the honour of the victims of 2001 attacks.

Mr. Modi will then proceed towards the United Nations to deliver the speech at the General Assembly, scheduled in the first half of the day.

The Prime Minister will then have a series of bilateral meetings including one with his Bangladesh counterpart Sheikh Hasina.

In the evening, Mr. Modi is scheduled to visit the Central Park where he will attend Global Citizen festival.

Couple married on top of Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa's highest peak

Posted by Unknown | | Posted in ,

Tanzania's tourism authorities on Monday commended two American nationals for exchanging wedding vows on Africa's highest peak, Mount Kilimanjaro.

This came a day after the two American nationals - Richard Miller and Sara Lee - exchanged the vows on Mount Kilimanjaro, located in the northern part of Tanzania to fulfil their long-time dream, Xinhua reported.

Pascal Shelutete, a spokesperson of Tanzania National Parks (Tanapa), described the event as unique and which needs to be emulated by other stakeholders in the tourism industry and ordinary people in and outside the East African nation.

"We have never experienced such a wedding held on Mount Kilimanjaro," Shelutete said.

Cyril Akko, executive officer of the Tanzania Association of Tour Operators (TATO), also hailed the move which is unique in Tanzania's history.

He said: "The event is going to be a catalyst that would promote Tanzania's tourist destinations across the globe."

"Sometime back, during last Christmas in Minnesota, United States of America, we had an engagement event with my hubby Richard Miller and committed ourselves that the wedding event must be done on the roof top of Africa and this is none other than Mt. Kilimanjaro," Lee said.

"Thereafter, we started planning for this historic and unique event by raising money for our trip to Tanzania and in particular Mt Kilimanjaro," she said, noting that their parents and other relatives were aware of the wedding plan.

Too much selfie sharing cause harm in real-life relationships

Posted by Unknown | | Posted in ,

In these days selfies are craze of not only teenagers but also to all people who had a camera mobile. Sharing selfies too much on social media can lead to decreased intimacy with your near and dear ones, a study reveals.

According to British researchers, people who post too many photos of themselves on social media run the risk of damaging real-life relationships.

"People, other than very close friends and relatives, do not seem to relate well to those who constantly share photos of themselves," said lead researcher David Houghton from the Birmingham Business School at the University of Birmingham.

The researchers found that an increased level of sharing photos of the self prompted a decreased level of support - in terms of "likes" achieved - from friends and colleagues.

"It is worth remembering that the information we post to our friends on Facebook, actually gets viewed by lots of different categories of people and each group seems to take a different view of the information shared," Houghton explained.

He also found that partners in relationships feel less supported when people share more photos of friends than family.

"Young women were most likely to find support in the form of 'likes' on Facebook. Older users and men received less support when they shared online," the study noted.

Google work with Government to support PM Modi's vision of 'Digital India'

Google on Monday said that it was collaborating with the government to support and enable Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision for 'Digital India'. The company said that as part of the plan, it would run a number of campaigns in collaboration with the Indian government.

The noteworthy among these programmes are:

  • MyGov, the citizen engagement platform of the government, and Google will soon launch contest to develop a mobile app for the PM's Office. Google claimed that the "mobile app will bring the PMO to every citizen and the contest will showcase how Indians can build a world class app".

  • Google would build a multi -language ecosystem on the web to help the government transition into the increasingly 'mobile' India.

  •  The company will push programmes like Helping Women get Online and getting Indian SMEs Online in a bid to promote the digital empowerment of citizens. It will also continue to map and photograph heritage and culture sites to bring them online.

  • To encourage digital literacy and Internet safety, Google will introduce curriculums for schools, officials and elected representatives.

While announcing the initiative, R S Sharma, secretary of the Department of Information Technology said, "The Digital India Program has been launched with the vision of transforming India into a digitally empowered society and knowledge economy. It can truly transform India and bring it on par with other developed countries. I'm happy Google is coming forward to roll out initiatives that will contribute to the Digital India vision. I'm sure others will come forward and join this movment."

Rajan Anandan, vice president and managing director of Google India, added: "India is already home to the 3rd largest number of internet users globally with 245 million users as of June 2014. We are on track to become the 2nd largest user market by 2015 and a 500 million-user market by 2016. Yet, there are more than a billion people who will need to be brought online for India to realize the vision of a digitally connected, knowledge economy. Prime Minister Modi's Digital India program will play a transformational role in achieving this."

Big B says talks on with Jackie Chan for a movie

Amitabh Bachchan on Tuesday revealed talks were on for a film with Jackie Chan but it was too early to confirm the same.

"There is some talk... but have not met anyone yet," said Big B, when we quizzed him on reports that appeared on Tuesday, declaring the Indian superstar was all set to work with Chan, widely regarded as Hong Kong's best export to Hollywood, in an ambitious Indo-Chinese project.

During his visit to the Capital in 2013, Chan had expressed his love for the vibrancy of Indian cinema, and added that he would love to work with Indian artists.

The Chan-Bachchan project on the anvil is said to be titled Gold Struck and is seen as the outcome of a strategic treaty that may be signed between India and China during Chinese President Xi Jinping's visit to this country this week.

Gold Struck, reports have stated, will also star Abhay Deol and Jacqueline Fernandez. It is said to be an adventure set against the backdrop of reincarnation.

During his 2013 visit, Chan gave this message of peace: "India and China have been neighbours for thousands of years, so why not be friends? Let's sing a song together at the border and end all the tension."

A song at the border is not likely to happen, but a film may have an equal impact in easing tensions.
