Nicki Minaj Smashed Up Her Ex Boyfriend's Mercedes Benz With a Baseball Bat

Posted by Unknown | Wednesday, November 5, 2014 | Posted in ,

After seeing how she handled Mariah Careywhile judging American Idol and how she threw shade at Iggy Azalea during her BET Awards speech, we already know Nicki Minaj is not someone you want to have beef with.
But in case you needed some additional proof, we found out why she and her now ex-boyfriend Safaree Samuels finally broke up: she smashed up his car with a baseball bat.

TMZ reports that the former couple got into an argument over the summer, and the "Anaconda" rapper got so pissed she completely lost it and grabbed a baseball bat, originally going after him and chasing him out of the house with it.

NICKI MINAJ SHOWS OFF BIKINI BODY
Luckily, instead of beating the crap out of him, she decided to take it out on his Mercedes Benz instead, completely wrecking the car.
Law enforcement sources say police with called to the house, but no arrests were made.  Samuels was simply escorted out of her home and left.  Minaj didn't face charges for the destruction because the Benz was in her name.

The couple called things off shortly thereafter... And I think that was probably their best bet before something seriously bad went down!

Here's the story all you need to know about Shweta Basu Prasad

Posted by Unknown | | Posted in , , ,

Mumbai: The news of National Award-winning child actress Shweta Basu Prasad's arrest for her involvement in a prostitution racket came as a shock to many. The 23-year-old, who is known for her roles in films like Makdee and Iqbal, released a statement soon after she was caught by cops, saying, "I have made wrong choices in my career, and I was out of money. "

"I had to support my family and some other good causes," said Prasad in her statement. "All the doors were closed, and some people encouraged me to get into prostitution to earn money. I was helpless, and with no option left to choose, I got involved in this act. I'm not the only one who faced this problem, and there are several other heroines who have gone through this phase."

Born to a Bengali mother and Bihari father in Jamshedpur, Prasad moved to Mumbai at the age of four. When she turned 11, she got her first break in Bollywood alongside Shabana Azmi in Makdee (2002). In this Vishal Bharadwaj film, she played the dual roles as Chunni and Munni and bagged the the National Film Award for Best Child Artist that year.

After Makdee, Prasad had offers from both television and films producers and she began working on several soaps (mostly produced by Ekta Kapoor). She continued to study at RN Podar High School, Santa Cruz, Mumbai. Prasad is a Jane Austen fan and loves Aamir Khan.

During an interview in 2008, the actress had remarked that had she not been an actress, she would have become a lawyer. "I am very good at arguing." said Prasad. "I have respect for Indian Constitution and Judiciary."

Prasad quickly became a household face, with performance as Shruti, (Om and Parvati's daughter) in the Star Plus soap Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki becoming very popular.

The high point of her acting career came in 2005 with Nagesh Kukunoor's Iqbal. Prasad played the role of Iqbal's sister, Khadija, which fetched her the Best Supporting Actress Award at the Karachi International Film Festival.

Post Iqbal, Prasad failed to launch a Bollywood career as a leading actress. Although she starred in Ram Gopal Varma's Darna Zaroori Hai as Ashu, it brought her little success. She then ventured into regional cinema and got her first commercial success with Telegu film Kotha Bangaru Lokam, co-starring Varun Sandesh.

She also tried her luck in Bengali cinema with Ek Nadir Galpo (Tale of A River), but the film didn't do well. The actress has since featured in a number of low budget Telegu films and also tried her luck in Tamil cinema. None of these paths worked out too well for her, which is perhaps that led to the financial crisis that Prasad refers to in her statement to the police.

On last Sunday night, Prasad was arrested when the Hyderabad Police conducted a raid on a hotel.

Sandra Bullock is Hollywood's top-earning actress

Posted by Unknown | Wednesday, August 6, 2014 | Posted in ,

New York: Oscar winner Sandra Bullock is Hollywood's highest paid actress with estimated earnings of $51 million over 12 months, followed by Jennifer Lawrence and Jennifer Aniston, Forbes magazine said on Monday.

Bullock, 50, had a big hit last year with the space thriller film 'Gravity', which won seven Academy Awards including best director for Alfonso Cuaron, and made more than $716 million worldwide.

The best actress Oscar winner in 2010 for 'The Blind Side', Bullock jumped from seventh place on the previous Forbes earnings list to the top spot between June 2013 and June 2014.

"'Gravity' star Sandra Bullock didn't win best actress this year but she did walk away with a ton of money," according to Forbes.com.

'Hunger Games' actress Lawrence, 23, came in second for the second consecutive year with estimated earnings of $34 million, while Aniston, 45, climbed one spot to No. 3 with $31 million.

Forbes compiled the list by estimating earnings from the actresses' film work, endorsements, residuals and advertising work, and by talking to agents, managers and lawyers.

Gwyneth Paltrow, 41, who made an estimated $19 million, and Angelina Jolie, with $18 million, rounded out the top five. Jolie, 39, dropped from No. 1 last year.

Scarlett Johansson, the 29-year-old star of the sci-fi action thriller 'Lucy' came in seventh with $17 million, and 'Twilight' star Kristen Stewart, 24, fell from No. 3 last year to 10th place with earnings of $12 million.

Although all of the actresses pulled in hefty incomes, Forbes said women still earn less then men in Hollywood. While the 10 highest earning actors took home a combined total of $419 million, Hollywood's 10 best paid actresses made a total of $226 million during the same time period.

Nayanthara turns mother in supernatural thriller

Posted by Unknown | Tuesday, August 5, 2014 | Posted in ,

Chennai: It's not easy to direct a star, but 24-year-old newcomer Ashwin Saravanan, who has a few short films to his credit, has become one of the youngest directors to work with actress Nayanthara in upcoming yet-untitled Tamil 'supernatural thriller'.

"Nayanthara plays a mother and the story predominantly revolves around her character. That's all I can reveal at the moment," Ashwin told IANS.

Potential Studios, a subsidiary of popular Tamil production house Studio Green is producing the film, which also features Aari in the lead.

How did a 24-year-old convince a top production house and manage to rope in a star in his debut?

"It was quite challenging because I haven't assisted anyone. But instead of pitching the story to my producers, I shot a five-minute pilot scene from the film and approached them. I narrated my story and subsequently showed them the scene. They really liked it," he said.

"In a supernatural thriller, it's mostly the visuals and the tone of the film that matter. The pilot scene came in very handy because no matter how good a story is, producers usually worry about the final product. That's precisely why I gave them a glimpse of what I intend to make," he added.

Nayanthara came onboard because the producers felt 'someone with great screen presence could only pull off the role'.

"Initially, we felt she might not do this film. But after I saw the Tamil remake of 'Kahaani', I thought she might be interested in doing it. We approached her and I showed her the pilot scene. Two days later, she agreed to be part of the project," Ashwin said.

Nayanthara believes in 'director's vision' and is a 'thorough professional' to work with, says Ashwin, who is still left with 15 days of shoot.

"She's a delight to work with. She never asks questions and trusts in her director. It's very easy to work with her and never do you feel that she's a star," he said.

"This supernatural film will be more about the characters. Audiences won't get to see Nayanthara or her stardom because they'll be engrossed by her character. Her costumes, acting and everything around her will be organic," he added.

This will be the first time Nayanthara will be essaying a mother character in a Tamil project. In Telugu, she has played a mother in 'Tulasi' and 'Sri Rama Rajyam'.

Ashwin admits he initially had his 'reservations' about whether Nayanthara will accept a mother's role.

"People aren't used to seeing her as a mother in Tamil movies and that part worried me the most. But after I saw her playing a mother to two kids in a Telugu film, I hoped she wouldn't mind playing the role again. I'm glad she agreed to do it and she's been splendid," he said.

The film, which is jointly produced by Prabhu and Prakash Babu, has music by debutant Ron Yohan.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan ruled the red carpet this year at the Cannes International Film Festival in all looks and impressed everyone. She left the city in even more glamorous avatar. Adding to her stunning appearance was her two and a half year old daughter Aaradhya Bachchan who walked with her mom.

The Miss Universe was spotted alongside her mother Brinda Rai and daughter Aaradhya Bachchan at the Nice Airport. The actress looked a stellar show in a deep neck dress paired with black leggings and an overcoat. She completed the look with yellow Gucci bag.

The yummy mummy lost all the weight she was criticised for last year at the Cannes and dropped jaws this year in five of the best looks she has carried pretty well.

Aaradhya looked a cute sight in floral top, light blue denims and pink shoes as she held her mom's hand throughout.

SRK slams reports of making anti-Modi comments

Posted by Unknown | Wednesday, May 21, 2014 | Posted in , ,

Mumbai: Superstar Shah Rukh Khan has slammed claims that he had made anti-Narendra Modi comments on Twitter.

There was a buzz in the social media that the 48-year-old actor had apparently tweeted that he will leave India if Modi becomes Prime Minister, a claim that Shah Rukh denied.

The actor took to Twitter to clear the confusion.

"Good time to tell all fools who are talking of a tweet that I didn't tweet, you suck as much as the grammar of that fake tweet & I'm being kind," he posted on Monday.

In fact, on May 16 SRK tweeted, "What a solid mandate given by the people. It proves again that the only constant is change. Now to move forward with strong and active faith, India."

The confusion arose when TV actor Kamaal R Khan, who uses shortened version of his name KRK on Twitter, boasted that he was leaving India following Modi's electoral win.

"So I am leaving India forever as I promised. I don't know if SRK and others will keep their promise but I will keep," Kamaal, a former 'Bigg Boss' contestant, had posted.

Cristiano Ronaldo with girlfriend Posed naked on the cover of Vogue Magazine

Posted by Unknown | Tuesday, May 20, 2014 | Posted in

Just when you thought Cristiano Ronaldo’s boundless enthusiasm (for himself) just couldn’t be quelled, the Portuguese football star decided to take things up a gear and, you know… Pose entirely naked on the cover of Vogue Espana.

With only his swimsuit model girlfriend Irina Shayk to protect his modesty, the Real Madrid forward strikes a hand-on-hip, scour pose that would make Zoolander deeply envious.

Other shots published via the VogueEspana Twitter account show Ronaldo flaunting his hours of training shirtless on a rug as he wrestles with Shayk’s handily loose trousers.

A third sees him brave sartorial territories that, frankly, no man ever should: super-tight white jeans and not a lot else.

The cover, which was shot by Mario Testino, was accompanied by the tagline “Amor y Futbol (Love and Football)”.

Celebrity trolling turns nasty

Posted by Unknown | | Posted in , ,

Hyderabad: When Kajal Aggarwal recently uploaded a midriff-baring photograph of hers on her Facebook page, many of the comments were disturbing. While the snap got more than 2.5 lakh likes, the comments ranged from the mundane “rocking” to the shocking “What is the instrument in the triangle????”, “This is what we call The Bermuda Triangle” and “Watz that mess... belly delly”.

When it comes to celeb trolling, Kajal is not alone. Tamannaah, in fact, is known as the “Navel Queen Tamanna Bhatia” by many of her fans, who have made a Facebook page with the same name. Whereas another photograph had the fan commenting, “looking like a waiter in a B-grade hotel”.

Ileana recently had to take off a comment on a photo of hers wearing kitten socks on which she had written, “I’ve got kittens on my socks today”.

The lewd comments that followed ensured that she removed the picture post haste. Another of Ileana’s picture was termed “too hot and disturbing”. Samantha, meanwhile, was subjected to a hate attack when a fan randomly commented: “Why u not die demon b***h? (sic)”

If this had happened to any one of us, we would have got angry, reported abuse and perhaps even filed a complaint of cyber bullying. But celebrities either ignore the comments or quietly remove them to avoid a fuss.

“The best thing to do, personally, is to ignore such comments. I am usually flabbergasted when fans comment that way and as to what were they really thinking,” says actress Nisha Aggarwal adding, “It’s never just one person writing weird or disgusting things, and you can’t file a complaint against an army of them.”

Nisha also adds that actors do keep a track of their respective accounts and delete comments that are inappropriate. “I check 70 per cent of the comments, but I do also have a team that keeps moderating such embarrassing contents.”

Actress Adah Sharma, too feels that you can’t react to each and every comment. “If you start replying or moderating each and every comment then you’ll be in front of the computer forever,” she says. “As an actor, you do receive the adulation and on the flipside, you have this. Fans had posted random pornographic images on my page, which I had no clue about in the beginning.”

Salma Hayek stands out with dress, message at Cannes

Posted by Unknown | Monday, May 19, 2014 | Posted in , ,

With a fuchsia strapless dress that accentuated her voluptuous figure, Salma Hayek was already guaranteed to turn heads on the Cannes red carpet.

So she used the opportunity to draw attention to a crisis - the kidnapping of more than 200 Nigerian girls. The Oscar-nominated actress carried a sign with the hashtag "Bring Back Our Girls" as she walked in front of a throng of cameras to a preview of her animated film "The Prophet" on Saturday.

The "Bring Back Our Girls" slogan has been used on social media. Notable figures including U.S. first lady Michelle Obama have posed with the message to urge the return of the girls, taken hostage by the Islamic extremist group Boko Haram a month ago.

Hayek is not the only Cannes participant to use the media to draw attention to a topical event. On Friday, the cast of the Turkish film "Winter's Sleep" held up signs with the hashtag Soma.

Soma is the Turkish city where 301 people were killed in an explosion and fire in a coal mine, the country's worst mining accident.

Thanks for letting me know that I’m getting divorced: Abhishek

Posted by Unknown | Sunday, May 18, 2014 | Posted in ,

Angry Abhishek Bachchan today took to Twitter to refute the rumours doing rounds about him and his wife Aishwarya Rai Bachchan heading towards a divorce. The actor mocked the speculators on social media for spreading such false reports and said that he is thankful to them for letting him know that his marriage is about to end. Bachchan wrote:

Ok…. So I believe I’m getting divorced. Thanks for letting me know! Will you let me know when I’m getting re-married too? Thanks. #muppets — Abhishek Bachchan (@juniorbachchan) May 16, 2014

While this is the first time that rumours of Abhishek-Aishwarya divorce surfaced, last year several media reports had claimed that not all is well between Aishwarya and her mother-in-law Jaya Bachchan.
According to an Indian Express report last year, the actress was miffed with her mother-in-law for interfering in her personal matters and was planning to leave the Bachchan residence along with husband Abhishek and her daughter Aaradhya. Jaya reportedly coaxed Aishwarya to update her constantly on the status of her professional ventures which she was unwilling to do.
However, she never really ended up leaving the Bachchan residence and still lives with her in-laws. And it also seems that the divorce reports also have very little truth in them as Abhishek is all set to join his wife and daughter at the Cannes very soon.

Heroines say ‘I do’, producers say ‘We don’t’

Posted by Unknown | Monday, May 12, 2014 | Posted in , ,

With Amala dropped from a film after announcing her marriage, the question returns. Why does the Tamil film industry persist with the outdated idea that married actresses cannot play romantic leads? Subha J. Rao finds out

When actress Laila, who redefined bubbliness in Tamil cinema, walks down the streets of Mumbai, where she lives with her husband and two children, she still gets admiring glances. Sometimes, she is mistaken for a college girl. But when South Indian producers and directors call the actress, all they offer are ‘mother’ roles. “Why should I play the hero’s mother? I don’t look like one,” argues Laila.

When reigning queen bee Simran swapped the arc lights for a life with her love in 2003, lead roles all but dried up, except for a meaty role in Gautham Menon’s Vaaranam Aayiram. Madhoo, the Roja girl, marked her return to Tamil films as a mother in Balaji Mohan’s rom-com Vaayai Moodi Pesavum. After marriage and children, Nadiya, the South Indian film industry’s eternal sweetheart, has got ‘dignified’ roles, not lead roles.

Married actresses just don’t get to play romantic leads in Tamil cinema. Immediately after the popular Amala Paul recently announced her marriage with director Vijay, news came of her being dropped from Telugu movie Vastah Nee Venaka, the makers claiming that her being married would affect the film’s takings.

It’s a problem actresses face, admits a top director. “Producers tend to think that married actresses lack ‘desirability’ and won’t draw in audiences. That mentality has to change. Married male actors flaunt their children with pride and still have women fans, don’t they? Why is this not applicable for actresses? Does talent vanish overnight after marriage?”

A producer, on condition of anonymity, defends the case. He points out that even a top-billed Kareena Kapoor was not successful after marriage in teeny-bopper roles — love story Gori Tere Pyaar Mein did not set hearts racing. Even an Aishwarya Rai, who took a break after getting pregnant, managed only a couple of films after marriage. In reality, though, Hindi films have been far more forgiving than Tamil ones. Dimple Kapadia famously got some of her most fantastic and seductive roles after marriage and kids. More recently, Vidya Balan has attracted author-backed roles, and Kajol starred in Fanaa and My Name is Khan.

“Why don’t audiences and producers understand that a woman has so much to give even after marriage or children?” asks a Tamil director. “Why can’t they be given maternity leave and welcomed right back?” Agrees Laila: “We go through so many experiences; a new range of emotions are within our reach now; things that we have lived, felt.”

As Suriya says, after a point, actors should not matter; only characters should. “An actor’s job is to camouflage himself into a character and ensure the audience never sees the actor on screen. Where does one’s personal status get into this equation?” he wonders. It remains a blind spot, though, in the Tamil industry. Things will change, says G. Dhananjayan, chief, South Business, Studios, Disney-UTV, when South India embraces the multiplex culture. This would mean more mature audiences with fewer hang-ups. “It’s up to the industry to tap their talent and write roles to suit their new status,” he says, pointing out that Meena was perfect as a homemaker in Malayalam blockbuster Drishyam.

The question, though, is not about ‘correct’ roles. The question is, if much-married actors can woo heroines half their age, why can’t a married actress get the same roles she did a month before she got married? Balaji Mohan, whose Kaadhalil Sodhupuvadhu Yeppadi and Vaayai Moodi Pesavum were both multiplex darlings, agrees: “People must have the ability to look beyond this.” But clearly, both industry and audiences still have a long way to go.

Different in small screen

Interestingly, leading ladies on the small screen, especially Hindi TV serials, have managed to hold on to lead roles, even romantic ones, after marriage. Think of the fragile-looking Sangita Ghosh. She scorched screens every evening with her smoking-hot chemistry with the much younger Ruslaan Mumtaz in the just-concluded Jee Le Zara. Then there’s Shilpa Shirodkar, who took a break after marriage only to make a comeback with the popular series Ek Mutthi Aasmaan, where she plays the lead — a domestic worker with dreams for her children. A gracious Poonam Dhillon plays the lead inEkk Nayi Pehchaan, a story about a loving but illiterate wife of a business tycoon who learns to read, thanks to her bahu’s efforts.

Kannada Was Quite Tough For Me, Says Asha Sarath

Posted by Trueline Radio | Sunday, May 11, 2014 | Posted in , ,

Asha Sarath, though rose to fame with her role in one of the seriels aired on Asianet, the actress is now busy with offers pouring on her in movies. After the success of Drishyam, she had been cast for the Kannada remake of the same film to essay the same role as the police officer.

She has now completed the shooting of the film but, says that Kannada was quite tough for her. Asha Sarath says that she has never dreamt of coming back into the industry even in her rarest dreams. But, now she is happy that she is active in the industry and that too performing good roles.

A dancer by profession, Asha says that she was never confident in doing her role in Drishyam. But, the true support from the cast and crew of the film has helped her in giving such an outstanding performance in the movie.

After Drishyam, the actress is now getting many good offers from the industry and she says that she might do a Tamil movie too. Currently, she is more excited about her role in the upcoming movie Angels, in which she plays a journalist.

She says, "I play a TV journalist called Sajitha Menon, who runs a popular programme of the reality show genre. She is considered an icon in the industry and is renowned for taking strong decisions and admirable stands. At the same time, she is an independent and happy woman in personal life. Indrajith plays the lead. I am quite excited about my role." Though Asha Sarath is becoming a busy bee in the industry, she is not ready to put aside her dance. She says that dance is always her first priority than films. She says that she wants to be in films, without it affecting her loving family and also her passionate dance.

Asin owns ‘a little piece of heaven’

Kochi: There’s no place like home. And when “home” happens to be a picturesque farmhouse in Kerala, with a river running alongside and swans flocking the property — we know just why Asin is so crazy about spending as much time as she can there. The Ready actress personally looks into the maintenance of her farmhouse, which is located in the hill station of Vagamon.

Many of her friends from the film industry have been welcomed there as guests as well. “Rohit Shetty, who recently stayed over at Asin’s farmhouse said he’d never feel like returning to Mumbai had that been his home,” our source reports. With organic food, fresh milk and plenty of inspiration for Asin to paint as well as quiet nooks to read, is it any wonder that the actress thinks of her little getaway as her “little piece of heaven”?

The Roja girl’s back

Posted by Unknown | Sunday, March 30, 2014 | Posted in ,

Madhubala talks about her comeback movie, Vaayai Moodi Pesavum, and why cinema is her calling.

Seventeen years after Paanjalankuruchi, the movie where an entire song was dedicated to her smile and beauty (‘Un Udattoram Sirippu’), actor Madhubala makes a comeback to the Tamil screen with Balaji Mohan’s Tamil-Malayalam bilingual Vaayai Moodi Pesavum/Samsaaram Aarogyathinu Haanikaram.

Though she made her debut in Tamil with K. Balachander’s Azhagan, starring alongside Mammootty, following it up with a mix of mass and class films, she achieved pan-India acclaim with Roja, the eponymous village girl who turns into a resolute woman amid the snow-clad peaks of Kashmir. “I’m still looked at as Roja. That’s amazing,” she says. “While shooting for Vaayai… in Munnar, I saw people pointing to me and saying: ‘That’s the Roja girl.’ And there I was, a mother of two, happily travelling back in time,” she laughs.

At the peak of her career, when she was just 30, Madhubala traded the arc lights for a regular life and settled down in Mumbai. “I never dreamt of making a comeback. Some years ago, I started doing small roles in Hindi films. I was sure I would do only Hindi, because it meant shooting in Mumbai and not leaving my daughters alone for long,” says Madhu. But, Tamil cinema always had a special place in her heart. “I was very impressed with what was happening in the Tamil movie scene, and had okayed a script by Lakshmy Ramakrishnan. That movie did not work out, but Balaji convinced me to sign up for his film. I was worried on many counts. The distance, the long days away from home… but he was so persistent. He said he would shoot within whatever time frame I gave. And, he did.”

Madhubala says she always likes to connect the dots. “I look for signs. Mammootty Sir was my first hero… now I’m working with his son Dulquer Salmaan. It’s like the universe is telling me that I will be welcome again in the industry.”

A lovely character

In Vaayai…, Madhubala plays a writer, the heroine’s stepmom. “It is such a lovely character. I know that at my age, I will be offered only character roles; but, I want to choose roles with spunk, roles of substance. Something on the lines of what Rishi Kapoor is doing right now in Hindi. A role that is pivotal, a role that challenges me as an actor,” she says.

The time is right, she says, to make a comeback. Industry trends are changing; newer stories are finding favour… “Like Amitji (Amitabh Bachchan) once said, he is able to do so much more as a character artiste than he could have as a hero.”

Madhubala has also returned to a much more professionally-managed industry. “Teams stick to the script. It is all about planning and executing it well. Everything from the script to the contract comes over mail!”

In her heydays, Madhubala acted under top directors — K. Balachander, Mani Ratnam, Shankar… and won critical and commercial acclaim. Despite that, on the first day of shooting for Vaayai… she was a nervous wreck. “I wondered if I would remember my dialogues. I was insecure and felt I was making a mistake. It was like being back on the sets of Azhagan as a rookie. But once, the first shot was canned, the 17 years seemed to melt away,” she says.

Supportive family

How easy then was it to say goodbye to cinema all those years ago? “It was the most difficult decision of my life. But, today, from where I stand, I can say it was the best decision too. I have a supportive husband, I’ve raised two lovely children… I would not want to change anything. Having said that, everyone has their strengths. There are women who rule the kitchen and find great joy in creating new dishes. There are women who do wonderfully well in other fields. But, other than my love for the arts, no other skill left me feeling fulfilled. I’m feeling so good now.”

Madhubala admits she never realised what a good thing she had going in her first stint, with the best of roles coming her way with very little effort. “I am someone who does not think too much. Things just happened. In my youthful brashness, I thought I had arrived, even without a godfather. Now, I look at what I got with so much more gratitude and humility.”

How has her family reacted to her movie? Her girls (13 and 11), who’ve watched Roja only in bits, are a little upset their mom is going to be away from them, but they understand, says Madhubala. “They don’t know their mom as an actor. For them, I’m just someone who can’t bake a cake or make a pizza! I can’t cook to save my life,” she laughs.

Remuneration of actresses hasn't changed: Katrina Kaif

Posted by Unknown | Saturday, March 29, 2014 | Posted in ,

Mumbai: Lauding the number and nature of women-centric films in the country, Katrina Kaif however laments that there is no change in the remuneration for them in Bollywood ever since she joined the industry in 2003.

"Since the time I entered the industry, the growth (of women-centric movies in Bollywood) has been phenomenal. The kind of roles being written is great...Kangana Ranaut has done queen, Vidya Balan did 'Kahaani'...now it has more layers. Our cinema has come a long way.

"But one thing which has not changed is the remuneration for women. There is still a huge disparity. Let's see what happens with that," she added.

Earlier, Kangana and Kareena Kapoor have been vocal about the financial compensation of actresses in tinsel town.

Anumol is a victim of that!

Posted by Unknown | Friday, March 28, 2014 | Posted in ,

The upcoming Mollywood film Maram Peyyumbol will have actress Anumol, who will be seen playing the title role of a victim. The movie has been penned and directed by Anil Thomas.

Sources reveal the movie showcases a real incident that took place in Mumbai around 40 years ago. Aruna Shaunbaug, a nurse, was brutally raped by a hospital attendant and this left her in coma since then.

Her relatives abandoned her and the employees of the King Edward's Memorial Hospital took care of her fought against a petition seeking a mercy killing for Aruna and won the case. Anumol will be portraying Aruna's character.
