It's better you shutdown KSRTC, says HC
Kochi: Kerala High Court on Monday made an observation that it is better to shutdown KSRTC, that has 'no use for the public'. The court made the oral observation while considering 35 cases, including cases of employee benefits, against the department.
By closing KSRTC down, the only consequence will be that the government will lose a ministry, the court said. If the department does not have money to provide benefits to its employees, it should sell properties to clear those dues, the court said.
Meanwhile, the government pleader informed the court that the department is running at a lose of Rs60 crore as the reason for failing to provide benefits to its employees.
The court made the statement while considering a petition filed by KSRTC employees stating that KSRTC had not been giving pension and other incentives to its staff.
