Won't probe TP murder: CBI
New Delhi: The CBI has finally decided not to conduct any probe into the high-level conspiracy behind the murder of RMP leader T P Chandrasekharan.
The CBI director has informed the matter to Personnel ministry after approving the report submitted by CBI South zone joint director.S.Arunachalam, JointDirectorofCentral Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for ChennaiZone.
The report was submitted in the wake of the state government submitting a petition against the stance of CBI. Accordingly, Arunachalam was asked to submit a report after making a study into the demand.
'T P Chandrasekharan murder was investigated by the state police. The trial of the case is over and also the verdict is delivered. At this juncture, a probe into the conspiracy angle is unnecessary,' says the report.
' Moreover, the police could not establish the role of Faiz, who is an accused in gold smuggling case, in the conspiracy. Hence, the probe into the foreign links behind the murder is also irrelevant. Faiz admitted that he visited Mohan Master. But Faiz added that he paid the visit as Mohan Master belonged to his native place,' the report adds.
